It's mainly the camera and the lens, really. Contrary to what a lot of photography magazines say about how "It's-the-photographer-not-the-camera", the simple truth is that the camera makes a way huge difference to how satisfying the colors are. It's a shame how that "photographer-not-camera" attitude has the risk of discouraging young and budding picture-makers by making them feel a little guilty if the colors in their pictures aren't satisfying. Good equipment and a camera whose algorithms render colors well are so important. If not, why are they even sold! Haha, I didn't mean to make this reply into an indignant rant about magazine articles, so sorry! I hope you have a smashing day!
